An overseas customer may send a security appendix covering access, suppliers, changes, and information handling. The first task is to understand which parts apply to the service or manufacturing work being delivered.
Connect the contract to operations
Map the relevant systems, outsourced activities, and suppliers. Classify the information they receive and agree who is responsible for protecting it. Policies should reflect the actual manufacturing and support processes.
Review changes as the business grows
A new integration, production line, or supplier can change the risk picture. Review customer commitments when those changes happen, and keep evidence of the controls that support them. This makes it easier to answer a customer’s questions without inventing a separate version of the business for each audit.
